Rector Maciej Słodki and Mayor Andrzej Nowakowski opened a modernized Industry Specific Business Simulations laboratory.
“Two years ago we opened a Business Simulations laboratory. Due to simulations, our students can make realistic business decisions while managing their own virtual businesses. Software for 23 positions costs over 150 thousand PLN” said Prof. dr hab. MD. Maciej Słodki. “Thanks to the support of the Mayor and Płock City Hall, in order to get the software to work properly, we bought new computers.”
“Another opening of the laboratory means that the University is still evolving. I can confidently say that the city takes more from cooperation with the University than gives” said, Andrzej Nowakowski. “I am glad that other joint projects are in progress: equipment for the psychological laboratory and electronic shooting range.”
After the symbolic ribbon cutting, in accompaniment of journalists, the Rectors of the University and the Mayor of Płock saw what working with the REVAS program looks like. As part of classes, second-year students of management students and second-year students of economics conducted a simulation regarding managing a transport company. MSc Monika Szymańska from the Faculty of Social Science talked about the functionality of simulation games. During the first hour of work, students got to the third round of the game – to that moment they started their own companies, established their missions, and saw the first rankings of the companies.
The technical background was modernized due to financial support of the City Płock, Financial means of 50.000 PLN, given as a matter of purposeful grant were used to buy 23 computer stations. It significantly impacted using business simulation, which is an element of educating in economics and management degrees.
Industry Specific Business Simulations laboratory is located in the didactic building of Mazovian Public University in Płock in Gałczyńskiego 28 street in room number 323.
