On the 14th June of 2023y, by the decison of Coucil of Scientific Excellence, the Mazovian Academy in Płock achieved permissions for giving doctoral and habilitated doctor degrees in the faculty of family sciences in the discipline of family sciences. It is the next step towards creating the university. In order for it to be created, college must have science categories in six disciplines. According to the act, a word “university” can be used only by academic college, which have science category of A+,A or B+ in six science disciplines containing in at least three fields of science. Achieving the permission is also acknowledge to the college’s efforts and reasarches leaded on the high level by employed science employes so far.
COMMON SUCCESS
When applying for the right to doctorate and habilitation in the field of family sciences, the university had to demonstrate staff with appropriate scientific achievments and a base enabling research. Not without significance was, that Mazovian Academy in Płock is modern college, which offers nineteen courses of study, which includes uniform master’s studies(medical field, psychology, special pedagogy, preschool and early school pedagogy). Educating takes part as the part of four units: Faculty of Social Sciences, Faculty of Humanities and Computer Sciences, Faculty of Health Sciences, and Medical Department. College also runs Doctoral School. The Mazovian Academy in Płock organises international and nationwide science conferences, symposia, and open lectures. Scientific base also creates possibilities of conducting research on the top level. It has two functional teaching bulidings, with rich equipment, and the third buliding, Collegium Medicum is in the process of being put into use. The Mazovian Academy in Płock has also a library, which book collection includes many scientific disciplines. It contains compact publications, magazines and special collections that can be used for comprehensive research on the family. Book collection of the college’s library counts on nearly six thousand books, and above two hundred titles of the magazines. Library offers also availability to electronic scientific bases.
Research results are published through the Scientific Publishing House. The thematic scope of the published publications includes: social sciences, humanities, medical and health sciences, and family sciences. Monographic works, collective studies and scientific journals are published here. The Academy publishes six scientific journals, including pariodicals.
FAMILY AS THE TOPIC OF RESEARCHES.
Discipline of science about family was created in 2022 year, but the discussion on this topic has been guided for a long time. The need for the comprehensive, interdisciplinary study of the family in the changing reality was noticed. Looking from the other perspectives but without any dominations ,will provide full reflection about the family as the topic of the researches. Analyzys in the field of family sciences can be conducted drawing from many disciplines, both from pedagogy and political and administrative sciences, economics, health sciences, legal sciences, philosophy, theology, and other disciplines. The current scientific achievements of people conducting research in these disciplines may be included in the achievements in the discipline of family science. The condition is to submit an appropriate declaration. This is an opportunity for people interested in scientific advancement.
The interdisciplinarity of the discipline of family science can be seen as a guarantee that the subject of research will not be ideological. In addition, it can be expected that the research community dealing with family issues will concentrate, which will contribute to the development of science. Research conducted in the new discipline is focused on humans and their needs, therefore they have an undeniable praxeological dimension. Family studies are not specific to Polish science, under the English name Family Studies, research on this subject is successfully conducted in many countries, the results of which are published in scientific journals.
The Mazovian University in Płock does not plan to open a field of study in the field of family sciences. They are conducted at a high level, including: at the Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University in Warsaw or the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, which meets the needs of the labor market.
