First solemn senate meeting of Mazovian Academy in Płock was held in hall of School at Gałczyńskiego st. 28. In event took part members of scientific councils of disciplines, representatives of central and local governments, workers of the school and students.
In the speech of prof. dr hab. n. med. Maciej Słodki, the rector of Academy expressed pride for establishing Doctoral School and emphasized its important function for development of education on doctoral degree in Poland.
– We are already ready with both program of education and the way of recruitment (…) I hope, that in next year there will arrive the first students on Doctoral studies – informed prof. Maciej Słodki.
The next element of deliberations was reading of the letter of prof. Przemysław Czarnek, Minister of Education and Science, in which he expressed appreciation and support from Ministry of Education and Science for the new project, which is founding of Doctoral school.
The letter was read by MP for RP Sejm, Anna Cicholska, who added – During deliberations of Sejm we were often discussing about needs, that are in the city. As MPs of Płock Land we are proud that medical field and Doctoral School will start in Mazovian Academy this year.
In the next point Rektor prof. Maciej Słodki has read the resolution about founding the Doctoral School in Mazovian Academy in Płock. The resolution defines the goals and tasks of the school, as well as its structure and organs.
The next, appointments to scientific councils of discipline about politics and administration and pedagogics were given by prof. Maciej Słodki and prof. Grzegorz Węgrzyn, the chairman of Council of Scientific Excellence.
In the program of Senate meeting, there was also another point regarding expressing the opinion in case of Mazovian Academy in Płock being in algorithm of academic schools group for the needs of distribution of subsidy funds in 2023 year. Senate unanimously approved the proposition.
The solemn lecture titled ‘’The sense of science and scientifical mistakes’’ was delivered by prof. Grzegorz Węgrzyn, the chairman of the Council of Perfection. On beginning he appreciated the changes, that are occurring in Mazovian Academy in Płock – The possibility of giving scientifical degrees is the biggest level of academy. Ahead of you there is great challenge, but also perfect opportunities for development – said prof. Grzegorz Węgrzyn.
In his speech he raised the issue of financing and conducting scientific research, its meaning for society and good and bad implications of scientific mistakes.
Solemn of Senate deliberations was certificate of engagement of authorities of Mazovian Academy in Płock into development of higher school in Poland and key step on way in founding Mazovian University.
