The project titled „A box for a Compatriot” assumes help and support for Poles who, due to the turbulent history of our nation, found themselves outside the country without their consent. This year the project is being implemented in Moldova and Ukraine. The parcels will reach Płock’s twin cities of Bielce and Zhytomyr. Out of concern for our compatriots, who are in an extremely difficult material situation, the Mazovia Academy in Płock is encouraging people to join the campaign.
Moldova is one of the poorest countries in Europe, the average pension is about 450 PLN. Ukraine has been defending itself against Russia for several months. The situation is very grave. The occupiers want to ruin civilian infrastructure facilities and regularly shell civilians.
Rector a patron
Educational institutions from Płock were involved in the collection of donations. Our University has also joined their ranks, and Prof. Maciej Słodki – Rector of the Mazovian Academy in Płock – has assumed honorary patronage of the action.
Needed articles
The organizers of the action have assigned our University to collect rice. All institutions can also collect oil and candy for children. Just pay attention that the articles have a long expiration date. We have set up three boxes at the University (the connector in the building on Dabrowski Square, the agora in the building on Galchinsky Street, the Student House).
We are waiting for you!
We are waiting for your gifts until December 1. On December 6, a bus full of items collected during the campaign will depart from Płock to Moldova. Representatives of the institutions involved in the collection will personally deliver the parcels to Poles from Bielce.
The PAKA DLA RODAKA project is coordinated by the Przystanek Rodzin Foundation.
