First-year students of new media studies and members of the Student Circle of Social Communication and Media Sciences took part in a lecture by Dobroslaw Baginski entitled. „Seeing No”.
We were invited to the lecture, combined with the promotion of the book „IMAGE – a visual riddle”, by the Płock Art Gallery. Dobroslaw Baginski – an artist, graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Wroclaw, lecturer in the fields of fine arts, architecture and journalism – introduced the subject of visual communication and visual art, often referred to as a pictorial or iconic code. The images presented provoked reflection on what the eye sees and what the brain sees. – Seeing is a well-directed image by the brain for a single viewer, i.e. our consciousness. It is the brain that knows what we need to see and what we want to see,” said Dobroslaw Baginski.
For students majoring in new media, the lecture provided an opportunity to deepen the content from the curriculum, in the areas of communication, audiovisuality and culture, among others.
