A traditional element of the autumn street races in Płock is the „Tumska Dycha” race. In the previous ten editions of the race, there were, among other events, the Polish Women’s Championships. This year, thanks to the cooperation between the Mazovian Academy in Płock and the Municipal Student Sports Club in Płock, the „11th Tumska Dycha” included the Academic Polish Cup in a 10 km run. Participation in the competition was open to every student and employee of higher education institutions from all over Poland.
The participants who stood at the starting line had to finish a challenging course. The first part of the route, leading through Małachowskiego Street, Stary Rynek, and Kazimierza Wielkiego Street, encouraged a vigorous pace. The second stage of the race consisted of two laps around Lake Sobótka. The most demanding part of the competition was the over one-kilometer uphill stretch from the pier on the Vistula River to Plac Narutowicza. From there, the participants had to cover the last kilometer through the streets of the Płock Old Town.
The best on the course and among the competitors was Przemysław Obara with a time of 36:18. The winner is a student of the University of Bydgoszcz. Second place was taken by Karol Kamiński with a time of 41:51, representing SGSP in Warsaw. On the third step of the podium stood Kamil Życiński, a student of economics at the Mazovian Academy in Płock, and a leading runner of the Mazovian Academy of Runners, who completed the 10 kilometers in 47 minutes and 16 seconds.
