Exchange of experience between Fort Wayne, Darmstadt and Płock
Academic employees Mary and Shannon Bischoff, who represents Purdue University in Fort Wayne in the United States of America, and councilman Wolfram von Rotberg from Darmstadt in Germany met with prof. dr hab. MD. Maciej Słodki, Rector of the University. Participants were interested in innovative solutions implemented in different countries and universities’ structures. Prof. Shannon Bishoff reported every University with a medical profile in Fort Wayne automatically opens a hospital at its campus, and students are responsible for co-running its activity with the lecturers. Another interesting solution, used in Germany, is transferring the burden of healing from hospitals to households. Councilman von Rotberg commented – healthcare in Germany controls the medical status of sick patients conducting treatment in their households.
During the meeting, the students’ exchange, as a matter of the Erasmus+ program, future development projects of the University, and experiences related to learning foreign languages programs and pedagogy in teaching children in the preschool age were discussed.
