GETTING TO THE CONFERENCE

This year’s COMMON ROOM Conference is held in the building of the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences of the State University of Applied Sciences in Płock, located in 28 Gałczyńskiego Street, 1 km away from the absolute centre of Płock. The conference venue can be reached from the city centre by taxi, by bus (approx. 7 minutes – using bus no. 7, 10, 19, 20 from Sienkiewicza street next to Tumska street to the III Liceum bus stop or using bus no. 3, 22 from Jachowicza street near the building of Teatr Dramatyczny to the Orlen Arena bus stop). You can also walk on foot (approx. 25 minutes) or use the network of Płock’s city bikes (https://plockirowermiejski.pl/en/). Bus tickets can be bought in the ticket machine on the bus.

Most of the accompanying events will be held in the POKiS (Płock Culture and Arts Centre) building in 10 Jakubowskiego street (next to the historic Water Tower), which is a 15-minute walk from the Old Town located in the centre of Płock.

Płock can be reached from Warsaw using: a) EKOBUS minibuses (http://www.ekobus.pl/rozklad-jazdy.html) that depart from three different locations: Warszawa Zachodnia (Warsaw West), Pałac Kultury i Nauki in the very centre of Warsaw or Metro Marymont / b) FLIXBUS buses (https://shop.global.flixbus.com) that depart either from Warszawa Zachodnia (Warsaw West) or Warszawa Młociny/ c) MOBILIS buses (www.mobilis.pl) that depart from Warszawa Zachodnia.

If you land at Warsaw Chopin Airport, Warszawa Zachodnia bus station can be reached by taxi or by train (S2 or S3) from the airport. From the airport you can use a taxi, the S2 or S3 train (to Warszawa Śródmieście or Warszawa Centralna), the 175 city bus (or the N32 bus at night) to reach the centre of Warsaw near Pałac Kultury i Nauki. From the centre of Warsaw you can reach Metro Marymont or Warszawa Młociny by underground or by taxi. If you land at Warsaw Modlin airport, you can use FLIXBUS buses (https://shop.global.flixbus.com) to reach Płock directly (3 services daily only) or first go to Warsaw using OKBUS/MODLINBUS buses (https://www.okbus.pl/en) and then use one of the bus services between Warsaw and Płock described above. Also, Koleje Mazowieckie, TLK and EIC trains which stop at the Modlin railway station can be used to reach Warsaw. There are regular fast buses operated by Koleje Mazowieckie running between the Modlin railway station and the passenger terminal entrance door.
